There are currently 101 million iPhone users in the U.S. alone, and it’s a safe bet to assume that almost every single one of them is concerned about what would happen in the event that their phone is damaged.
Thankfully, there are several ways to save the data in your phone before it gets lost to serious physical damage. Before you go into your local iPhone repair company, it’s important to know how to securely back up all of your data and pictures. Here’s a short guide to help you save all of your important materials to the cloud.
Access Your Settings
No matter what type of phone you have, the settings app usually takes on the appearance of a single or multiple gears. You should be able to access it from the pull-down menu at the top of your home screen.
Find the Right Option
Once you’ve opened the settings screen, scroll down until you find an option that reads “backup and reset.” Here, you can enable and access your way into the cloud.
Turn Backup On
Once you’ve made your way into the “backup and reset” menu, turn on the backup abilities. This should enable you to back all of your data up automatically.
Select an Account to Back Up
If you have multiple e-mail addresses associated with your phone, simply select which of those you’d like to have backed up. From there, you can choose which items from that account, such as contacts, app data, and calendars, will be backed up to the cloud.
What if my phone breaks?
If your phone breaks after you’ve backed up your data, there’s nothing to worry about. You may still need to take it in for cell phone repair services, but your data should all be safe within the cloud. In addition, if your local iPhone repair company can’t repair the damage done, you’ll still be able to transfer all of your data to a new phone.
A fall to the floor doesn’t have to mean the end of your phone as you know it. Between backing up your data and cell phone repair, your phone is more than safe.
